Report: Liverpool agree £109.7m transfer for Bradley Barcola with five-year contract | OneFootball

Liverpool have allegedly completed a deal with PSG for Bradley Barcola in the summer transfer window.

Transfer news reporter Pedro Almeida claimed on X (formerly Twitter) that the Reds had reached an agreement to the tune of €128m [£109.7m].

The France international is understood to have agreed a five-year deal (with the option of an additional year).

Have Liverpool agreed a deal for Bradley Barcola?

With the greatest of respect to Almeida, we have to cast some measure of doubt over this report, given a whole swathe of top-notch reporters have yet to confirm the story.

That said, if we are to take the report as gospel, there’s no question we’d be delighted to learn that Liverpool have finally concluded negotiations and can move on to other targets.

With PSG initially understood to be looking for a figure closer to £145m, a deal around the £110m ballpark would represent a win for Liverpool in a transfer window defined by heavily inflated asking prices.

Add Ibrahim Mbaye to the Anfield stable too for a potentially paltry £34.3m-42.9m, and that’s some pretty stellar business to bolster the forward line.

What’s the word on Barcola elsewhere?

L’Equipe (via GFFN) reports that both PSG and Liverpool are confident a deal can be struck for the French international.

Personal terms are no issue between Barcola and the Premier League giants. However, it is emphasised that both clubs have some work to do to agree on a fair valuation, with the two still far apart.

Regardless, it’s difficult to imagine the Ligue 1 outfit staying resolute on their own internal valuation while agreeing deals for the likes of Maghnes Akliouche and Mika Godts.

We just can’t see PSG looking to keep their No.29 in the squad when they’re looking increasingly stacked for wide options. The player ultimately isn’t happy with his role under Luis Enrique, and the manager doesn’t want to rely on a footballer who wants out.

This is a deal that will get done, we think; it’s just a matter of time.
