Liverpool have entered the race for Christopher Nkunku and are one of several top clubs to have made contact according to reports.
The Blues are braced for a busy summer with the club looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad.
Chelsea also have a number of players who are surplus to requirements and they could look to fund their business by selling as many as seven or eight players.
One player who falls into that category is Nkunku, who’s reportedly decided he’ll leave Stamford Bridge this summer after arriving from RB Leipzig for £52m in the summer of 2023.
The signing was met with huge excitement from the fans, but the reality has been very different, with Nkunku’s move to Stamford Bridge very much a huge disappointment.

The 27-year-old missed the majority of last season through injury, and whilst he’s played more this season he just doesn’t fit Maresca’s system, and has been criticised for his performances.
Foot Mercato have reported Liverpool have begun talks with the France international, with the club looking for a versatile forward player.
The report adds Newcastle and Bayern Munich are also interested, and one key factor for Nkunku is playing Champions League football.
Nkunku has scored 14 goals this season, although only three have come in the league, and he hasn’t made the most of the opportunities he’s been given.
Chelsea have been linked with a number of attacking players and one who could replace Nkunku is Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers.
The Blues have interest in the England international, who can play as a number ten and out wide, but the issue could be the price tag.

Aston Villa are believed to want £90m for one of their star assets and it remains to be seen if Chelsea would pay that much.
Other names who’ve been linked are Jamie Gittens, Eberechi Eze and Nico Williams, but it’s vital the Blues make the right signing.
