Report reveals the details of Hamza Abdelkarim’s transfer to Barcelona | OneFootball

Over the last few seasons, FC Barcelona have been quite efficient and smart with the signings that have been made. Instead of investing absurd amounts of money into a singular player, the club has done well to invest into a whole new project of sorts to bring in some much-needed profiles.

One such profile is Egyptian talent Hamza Abdelkarim, who was initially loaned from Al Ahly but has now been signed permanently by the Catalan club this summer following his progress in the subsidiary. Now, he has taken things even further and is impressing with the first team as well under Hansi Flick’s orders.

However, the whole operation to bring him in on a permanent basis this summer is an interesting one. As highlighted by SPORT, there are several details included in the transfer that could potentially see the price tag increase well beyond the initial payment of the purchase clause in his loan deal.

Initially, the loan itself was free of cost, but the purchase option included in the deal was reportedly set at €1.5 million. Since the Catalan giants have executed that option, they have already paid half of that amount to the Egyptian club and the remaining €750,000 will be paid in January of 2027.

However, the deal includes other performance and appearance-based bonuses as well. Once the player makes five official appearances for Hansi Flick’s team, given that those appearances involve him playing more than 45 minutes in each one, Barça would have to pay another €750,000 and that particular clause could reach a maximum total of €2 million.

Beyond that, Barcelona could have to pay as much as €1.5 million more based on his goalscoring performances. Every five goals will cost Barça €300,000, and it could reach a maximum total of €1.5 million as mentioned previously.

In total, that could mean that the total cost of the operation could potentially reach €5 million if the player manages to match those performance and appearance-based targets. However, considering his exceptional performances during preseason, it hardly seems like a bad deal and it is quite likely that he has a future under Flick’s command given that Barça are reportedly interested in revisiting his current contract as well.
