Roberto De Zerbi could be sacked by Olympique de Marseille following Wednesday night's exit from the Champions League.

The French suffered a damaging 3-0 loss to Club Brugge in Belgium which meant that they finished 25th in the Champions League table – not helped by Benfica's heroics at home to Real Madrid.

According to journalist Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport, discussions between the Italian head coach and the board are underway which could see a change in management.

Despite disappointment in Europe, Marseille aren't too far off the top domestically sitting in third position in Ligue 1, five points behind Lens and seven behind PSG.

De Zerbi joined Marseille in the summer of 2024 after two seasons with Brighton & Hove Albion and so far has a record of 38 wins, 9 draws, and 19 defeats from 66 games.
