Revealed: Chelsea stance on selling talented forward to Barcelona | OneFootball

In the last few days, Barcelona have been linked with a shock 2027 move for Chelsea and Brazil winger Estevao. The 19-year-old has reportedly become frustrated with his lack of playing time at the Premier League side, and understandably, this has alerted Can Barca, who had previously shown interest in the teenager when he was still at Palmeiras.

Previously, Estevao had been considered as one of the best next talents out of Brazil, but his development has stagnated at Chelsea due to a lack of opportunities since joining in the summer of 2025. Before he ended up in London, Barcelona had shown strong interest, although that came to an end because of Lamine Yamal, with both players preferring to play on the right side of attack.

However, Barcelona see Estevao as someone that could complete alongside Lamine Yamal, or even make the right side his own if the Spaniard ends up moving infield. Despite this, Chelsea have absolutely no intention of letting the Brazil international leave, as reported by Football.London (via CaughtOffside).

Despite his recent lack of prominence, Chelsea have informed Estevao that he will be a crucial player, with this also having been communicated by head coach Xabi Alonso. It remains to be seen whether these talks are enough to cool his frustrations, but even if that is not the case, the Londoners do not intend to open the exit door.

While Estevao’s talents are still very much appreciated by Barcelona, it’s clear that his signing would only be considered as a market opportunity. He is not someone that comes in as an immediate starter in the most prolific attack in world football right now, and while he could develop into a world class player in the years to come, that is not something that club bosses will be thinking about at this stage.
