Despite being tempted to offload Davide Frattesi in the January transfer window, Inter Milan eventually decided to keep hold of their struggling star.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the Nerazzurri had four reasons to prevent the 26-year-old from leaving midway through the campaign.
Cristian Chivu has failed to reignite Frattesi’s career at San Siro this term.
Indeed, the former Sassuolo man has only made two Serie A starts all season, often playing second fiddle to Piotr Zielinski and Petar Sucic.
Therefore, a winter exit was on the cards, with Lazio and Nottingham Forest reportedly vying for his signature.

Despite his underwhelming stint at San Siro, Inter have slapped a €30 million price tag on Davide Frattesi. Furthermore, they’ve never been willing to budge on their asking price.
Meanwhile, no club has offered the Nerazzurri anything remotely close to that figure. Moreover, all interested sides were only ready to sign Frattesi on loan.
Then, the player wasn’t overly enthusiastic about joining Nottingham Forest, given the Tricky Trees’ perilous position in the Premier League.
Finally, Inter could not afford to let Frattesi leave without finding a replacement.
