Arsenal supporters think the club is owed a Premier League title - or two - after latest Man City development

Arsenal supporters have been saying the same thing after Manchester City were, reportedly, found guilty of all but one of the 115 charges against them relating to breaches of Premier League financial regulations.

According to The Athletic, an independent commission has ruled Man City to be guilty on 114 of the 115 charges they faced.

Unsurprisingly, such developments has garnered a massive response from Arsenal fans on social media, with some demanding City’s punishment is to be stripped of their Premier League titles.

Furthermore, many Gunners supporters are of the opinion that two of those titles should be awarded to them after finishing runners-up to Man City in 2022-23 and then again in 2023-24.

Now, as the 115 alleged FFP breaches covers a nine-year period between the 2009-10 and 2017-18 seasons, there's no chance Arsenal would be handed any Premier League title in the unlikely event City were stripped of their title wins.

However, judging by the reaction on social media, Arsenal fans are adamant they should, at the very least, be awarded the 2023-24 Premier League title because that was when City were initially charged and a points deduction at the time would have come in handy for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Standard Sport has approached both City and the Premier League for comment.

A spokesperson for City told The Athletic: “The Premier League process remains ongoing, with significant elements to be completed, and subject to strict confidentiality.

"As such Manchester City FC’s position remains consistent with the club’s statement of February 2023.

“The club has diligently respected due process for eight years on the basis the Premier League board and executive would behave as an independent, impartial and fair minded regulator, free from partisan influence.”
