River Plate weigh move for Al-Hilal goalkeeper Yassine Bounou | OneFootball

River Plate are considering a move for Al-Hilal and Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou in the next transfer window as they prepare for the possible exit of young keeper Santiago Beltran.

According to Goal.com, River have made initial contact with people close to Bounou to assess his stance and whether talks could begin in the next phase.

The pursuit is driven by his extensive international experience and long-standing links with the club. Bounou has previously expressed a wish to wear the River shirt one day.

After the World Cup, he said the decision did not rest with him, but that if a chance arose at some point it would be welcome.

Bounou is under contract at Al-Hilal until the middle of 2028, so any exit would depend on the Saudi club and subsequent negotiations. For now, River view him as their only option should Beltran depart, effectively their first, second and third choice.
