Wolves have dismissed head coach Rob Edwards and are set to appoint Cesar Peixoto as his successor.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Edwards was informed this morning after it emerged overnight that he would be relieved of his duties.

The club confirmed the decision at 11.15am on social media. Chairman Nathan Shi described it as an extremely difficult call.

Wolves are now moving for Peixoto, who is currently in charge of Portuguese side Gil Vicente.

Edwards’ tenure lasted a little more than 200 days. The change comes despite the club announcing the signings of Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez earlier this week.
