Rob Edwards has warned Wolves cannot wait to spend this summer as they plan a squad rebuild.

With eight Premier League games remaining, Wolves are 12 points from safety and are expected to be relegated to the Championship. According to ExpressAndStar.com, plans for the transfer window are already under way and Edwards wants early movement.

Asked whether owners Fosun are prepared to invest, he said he had not discussed specific budgets and did not need to at this stage, adding that this informed some of the decisions taken in January.

Looking ahead, he said that going into the summer he thinks they will be in a position to be aggressive and to complete business early.

Edwards’ focus is on swift, decisive work once the window opens, aligning recruitment with the rebuild he believes is required.
