Tottenham Hotspur have turned down three offers from FC Porto for left-back Souza, who boss Roberto De Zerbi has ‘blind faith’ in and wants to keep.
Souza arrived at N17 from Brazilian club Santos in the winter transfer window this year and put pen to paper on a long-term contract with the club.
In the recent campaign, the 20-year-old made four Premier League appearances, and his first start for the club came against Crystal Palace.
Getting regular game time at Tottenham this season could be tough for Souza though, with Andrew Robertson having joined to add to the left-back options.
Portuguese club FC Porto have been keen to sign him this summer and it has emerged that, behind the scenes, the have indeed been trying.

According to Spanish journalist Eduardo Burgos, Tottenham have turned down two permanent transfer bids and a loan bid from Porto.
De Zerbi has ‘blind faith’ in Souza and rates him highly, believing that he is the kind of player who can change a game.
With De Zerbi backing Souza to make an impact in the upcoming season, the 20-year-old could be handed more minutes during the course of the campaign, or regularly be turned to from off the bench.
For Souza, that could be enough to cause him to want to stay at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and snub a move to Porto, which would no doubt be attractive.

Spurs have made key additions in the backline and in the middle of the park, but are yet to make improvements to the final third.
Striker Randal Kolo Muani has returned to Paris Saint-Germain after the conclusion of his loan spell, while Dominic Solanke and Richarlison’s futures at the club remain uncertain.
