Robinho Jr has signed a season-long loan deal with Genoa, taking the 18-year-old forward out of Santos.
Fabrizio Romano first reported the agreement. Genoa will cover his wages during the loan after the player waived some amounts, with the initial offer proposing a cost split with Santos.
Genoa hold an option to buy for eight million euros (R$ 48 million) at the end of the loan. Santos would retain 10% of his economic rights if a permanent sale is confirmed then.
The clubs reached agreement after a fresh round of talks, having first stalled when Santos rejected splitting salaries through to the end of the European season. The board awaited a counter-offer, and the player’s camp pushed for the move to secure more minutes in Italian football.
He has not played since 21 July, featuring in the thrashing of UCV in Venezuela in the Copa Sudamericana. This season he has 13 appearances and one goal, his first as a professional, scored in a friendly against União São João.
