Robinho Jr. waives Santos money to join Genoa on loan and seek more minutes | OneFootball

According to Globo.com, Robinho Jr. gave up payments owed by Santos to secure a loan move to Genoa, prioritising greater game time. The offer of close support in Italy also helped persuade the forward to move.

Genoa have arranged a dedicated adaptation team for the Menino da Vila. At least four professionals are available, a nutritionist, a fitness coach, a physiologist and specialists in mental preparation.

In Italy, he aims to play more and make a strong early impression, something that did not materialise at Santos. This year he featured in 13 matches and scored one goal, in a friendly against União São João.

His final appearance before departing came on 21 July. The 18-year-old played a few minutes in the Copa Sudamericana win over UCV in Venezuela.

Santos initially rejected Genoa’s first proposal, which envisaged split wages. After the player’s insistence and a revised bid, the Italians agreed to cover his salary in full.

The loan runs until June 2027. Genoa hold a purchase preference worth eight million euros, R$ 48 million, and Santos will keep 10% of his economic rights if a sale is confirmed at the end of the deal.
