Rodrigo Garro hailed Corinthians’ recent form after starting in the 1-1 draw with Independiente Santa Fe in Bogotá, a result that lifted them to 10 points from four Group E games and moved them closer to the Libertadores last 16.

"I am very happy for the group. These are people who dedicate themselves. It is an honour to work with each of the players who are here, who are part of this Corinthians group," he told Paramount.

"Now it is about carrying on working. Keep our feet on the ground, because I think at times like this we have to put ego aside and work on our humility. I think the game was good for us. Now we will listen to the coach (Fernando Diniz) and correct the things that did not go well today."

The midfielder has regained prominence under Fernando Diniz, who arrived about a month ago. Garro has featured in eight of the nine matches since the coach’s debut and is again a key part of the attack.

In that spell he has made five assists across four games, including two in the 2-0 win over Platense in the Libertadores. He also set up goals in the 2-0 victory against Santa Fe, the 1-0 win over Vasco and the 2-0 success against Peñarol.

Garro is available for Sunday, when Corinthians host São Paulo at Neo Química Arena at 18h30 in the 15th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. The team need a win in the Majestoso to climb out of the relegation zone.
