Roma aren’t giving up on Mason Greenwood and are determined to bring him to Trigoria at all costs to provide Gian Piero Gasperini with the reinforcement he so desperately needs for his attack.
The 24-year-old Marseille talent will likely leave the French club this summer, and the Giallorossi have been pursuing him for some time.
According to Sky Sport, the Englishman is a solid target for the Giallorossi, who are about to submit their first official offer to the French club.
A few weeks ago, Fenerbahce were very close to signing the player, with presidential candidate Hakan Safi announcing an agreement with the player.
However, once the elections were lost, the Fenerbahce option increasingly faded, and the other interested club, Atlético Madrid, is preoccupied with the issue of Julian Alvarez, who wants to leave the club but is considered the frontrunner for the Colchoneros’ project by the club and Diego Simeone himself.
Roma, therefore, must exploit this advantage to its advantage, and sporting director Tony D’Amico is ready to submit the first official offer to the French club, who could slightly lower their demands and “settle” for a figure just under €50 million.
