Givairo Read remains Roma’s top target to strengthen their right flank.
Tony D’Amico wants to speed up the process and try to close the deal in the next few hours, so as to provide Gian Piero Gasperini with another signing during his training camp in Wales.
An agreement has already been reached with the player, reports Il Messaggero. A five-year contract worth €2.5 million per season is on the table, and the 2006-born player has indicated Roma as his first choice.
Competition from Nottingham Forest also appears to have cooled in recent hours.
The obstacle remains Feyenoord. The Dutch club rejected the Giallorossi’s initial offer of €23 million plus €2 million in bonuses, deeming it insufficient compared to the €30 million valuation set for the full-back.
Roma, however, hasn’t given up and has relaunched with a new offer of €25 million plus €3 million in bonuses. At the moment, the Giallorossi don’t appear willing to go any further, hoping that this final push will be enough to reach a definitive agreement.
