Roma awaiting Ivory Coast and Morocco’s decision

Gian Piero Gasperini still doesn’t know whether he’ll be able to count on Evan Ndicka and Neil El Aynaoui against Como. Roma has been awaiting a response from the Ivory Coast and Moroccan federations for days.

The two Giallorossi players are scheduled to leave for their respective national team training camps tomorrow, December 15th, but are currently still in the capital.

Yesterday, Saturday, they trained in Trigoria.

The situation is still evolving, but more information will be available today—perhaps as early as Gasperini’s press conference. El Aynaoui’s availability against Como remains unclear.

Morocco will play in their first match of the Africa Cup of Nations on December 21st. It’s more likely that Ivory Coast will approve Ndicka, who will play in the tournament on December 24th. The coach, however, is confident he has both players available.

Morocco and Ivory Coast are two of the favorites to win the tournament. If their performances at the Africa Cup of Nations are positive, the Giallorossi coach could miss them for a long time. The group stage ends on December 31st, so—excluding Como—Ndicka and El Aynaoui will certainly miss the Juventus match on December 20th and Genoa on December 29th.
