Roma’s search for attacking reinforcements continues unabated, and new prospects who could assist Gasperini continue to be explored daily.
According to Belgian journalist Sasha Tavolieri, Roma have initiated initial discussions with Benfica for Andreas Schjelderup, a Norwegian attacking winger born in 2004, and there is talk of a loan with an obligation to buy.
Initial discussions have also been held with the player’s entourage to determine his willingness to move to Italy.
Having arrived at Benfica from Nordsjaelland, he has so far failed to carve out a central role in the Portuguese club’s technical project, which is why the possibility of a loan is being carefully considered.
However, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows when it comes to the footballer’s life off the pitch. Last November, the Copenhagen Court sentenced the young man to 14 days in prison with a suspended sentence for the dissemination of a sexually explicit video depicting minors.
The incident dates back to when he was playing in Norway, and the player had reported himself and publicly apologized. The player explained that he received the video on Snapchat and forwarded it to a group of friends, calling it a “bad joke.”
He later stated that he didn’t know the ages of the children involved.
