Roma and Atalanta put perfect starts on the line in an early top-of-the-table meeting at the Stadio Olimpico, with kick-off at 19.45 BST.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Maurizio Sarri could retain the XI that beat Bologna, though there is a chance Lazar Samardzic replaces Mario Pasalic in midfield, or Elfji Elmas comes in for Giacomo Raspadori up front.

Atalanta led the table after two rounds, having posted successive 4-0 wins over Fiorentina and then Lecce at the start of the campaign. Sarri has opened his reign with victories against Sassuolo and Bologna.

Donyell Malen has burst out of the blocks for Roma, scoring five in two this season and 19 in 20 league games since arriving from Aston Villa in January.

Paulo Dybala had been a doubt earlier this week, but he is back in contention and pushing to start. If he is on the bench, Matias Soule is the likely option alongside Malen and Rodrigo Mora. Evan Ndicka could return and replace Daniele Ghilardi, while Santiago Castro, Nahuel Molina, Marten De Roon and Kostantinos Kouulierakis are expected to be among the substitutes.

Franck Kessie could make a second Atalanta debut from the bench. Jonathan Rowe may also feature after his €40m move from Bologna.

Roma probable XI, 3-4-2-1: Svilar, Mancini, Ndicka, Hermoso, Lulli, Kone, Cristante, Wesley, Dybala, Mora, Malen.

Atalanta probable XI, 4-3-3: Carnesecchi, Zappacosta, Kossounou, Scalvini, Bernasconi, Pasalic, Gaetano, Ederson, De Ketelaere, Scamacca, Raspadori.
