This significant move demonstrates the management’s determination to close the deal and beat out English competition to bring the 2006-born player to Trigoria.

The Premier League club, however, is in a strong position when it comes to salary.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Nottingham Forest has already reached an agreement with the player on a €4 million per season salary, a figure that currently represents Roma’s main obstacle.

The Giallorossi will therefore have to address this issue to try to turn the situation around. There are two options on the table: match the English club’s salary offer or convince Read to accept a salary reduction of between €2.8 and €3 million per year.

In this regard, Roma is aiming to play a key role: Champions League participation.

The club’s European showcase and technical plan could be a decisive factor in deciding the player’s choice, especially in a context of fierce international competition.
