Tanzanian giants Young Africans suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of Silver Strikers in the first leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round on Saturday.
The Malawian champions claimed a famous victory in their backyard as substitute Andrew Joseph rose the highest to head home in the 76th minute.
Romain Folz's men will need to overturn the deficit in the return leg set to be staged in Dar es Salaam on Saturday, 25 October.
The Frenchman is already under immense pressure as he survived the axe during the international break.
Yanga failed to agree a deal to appoint Madagascar national team head coach Romuald Rakotondrabe due to his assistant's lack of a CAF B License, which saw talks hit a snag.
It remains to be seen whether the former Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach can weather the storm and guide the Tanzanian champions to the group phase of the competition.
