Roy Keane says Man City players should ‘throw medals in the bin’

Roy Keane says he would throw any medals won with Manchester City “in the bin” after they were found guilty of breaching the Premier League’s financial rules.

The former Manchester United captain said he would not want to keep honours won during the period in which City broke the rules.

“If I was a player, I’d be 100% sticking those medals in the bin,” Keane told ITV Sport ahead of England’s match against Czechia.

“Of course you would, it’s cheating.

“They won it on the pitch because cheating was going on.”

Keane also claimed those in charge at City would have understood the impact of their actions.

“They knew it would hurt a lot of people, but they’ve still done it,” he added.
