The Manchester United boss' recent comments on the Owls loanee have caused a stir
Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has issued a fresh claim concerning current Sheffield Wednesday loanee, Harry Amass, which has certainly sparked plenty of discourse on various social media platforms.
The Owls are rooted to the bottom of the Championship after an opening four months of the season which has seen plenty of headlines generated at Hillsborough, albeit the vast majority of those have been related to off-pitch developments.
Indeed, it has been a chaotic calendar year for the Steel City club, who remain in the hands of Begbies Traynor at present, with the administrators looking to secure as much funding and stability as possible before confirming who the club's next chairman will be after they initially entered administration on Friday, October 24th.
Wednesday were predicted to finish at the foot of the table by many supporters and outsiders due to the uncertainty that did, and still does to an extent, surround the club from a financial standpoint after a catalogue of controversial instances under the ownership of controversial former chairman, Dejphon Chansiri.
Naturally, the South Yorkshire side were hit with an automatic 12-point deduction for being placed in administration amid fears of an unpaid £1m tax bill, before seeing a further six point setback introduced at the start of the month after several instances of delayed wage payments and further non-payments.
Numerous sanctions imposed on the club by the EFL have meant that Amass is one of just five players to have agreed an initial short-term permanent or loan deal since the opening of the previous transfer window.
It must be said, though, that the form and development of the 18-year-old has been one of very few plus points for Henrik Pedersen and Wednesday supporters, which only added to the mixed reaction given to Amorim's latest comments as Amass' immediate future very much remains up in the air.

As previously mentioned, Amass has been one of very few additions who Pedersen has been able to source in the opening months of his spell as Wednesday head coach following the well-documented, yet expected departure of Danny Rohl, which came just nine days before the opening day defeat to Leicester City on August 10th.
The London native agreed a loan switch to S6 in the final hours of the summer window from the Red Devils, almost two weeks after the second tier's crisis club had moved to sign Cardiff City's American goalkeeper, Ethan Horvath, on a short-term loan following a serious injury sustained by Pierce Charles.
It has also been well-documented that the Old Trafford club had agreed to compensate for every financial element of the loan agreement, which includes Amass' wages, which, according to ESTIMATED figures from Capology, come in at a base figure of £5,000 per week.
Despite the lack of depth and experience which Pedersen has had to work with as Wednesday's season has effectively been over for a matter of weeks, Amass' performance levels have been extremely impressive.
In what is his first loan stint away from Old Trafford after making a handful of appearances in the Premier League and United's run to the UEFA Europa League final last season, he opened his senior goalscoring account with a well-taken finish in the 3-1 defeat to Southampton on November 8th, before posting an assist for Charlie McNeill in the 3-2 loss to Preston North End at Hillsborough three weeks later.
Such form has coincided with the fact that Wednesday's current situation, which sees them effectively a League One club already due to the monumental points difference between themselves and those above the relegation zone, has led to question marks over what the future holds for Amass post-January.
It has been widely reported that Amass isn't short of suitors, whilst Pedersen remains hopeful that an extension can be granted by his parent club.
Yet, despite the fact the youngster was voted as the club's Player of the Month last week, Amorim has sparked plenty of controversy when discussing the teenager's current predicament.
Whilst discussing the future of Amass, as well as that of Kobbie Mainoo and Chido Obi ahead of Monday's game with AFC Bournemouth, the Portuguese said: "Amass is now struggling in Championship."

It is fair to assume that, whilst some Wednesdayites have been left perplexed by these comments, Amorim will be aware of how impressive Amass has been in blue and white, and will have been referencing the club's situation as a whole.
Indeed, it has also been reported that both clubs are happy with the progress the wing-back has made in South Yorkshire, which makes it evident as to why there appears to be no shortage of suitors in the short-term.
Whatever the next step United take when it comes to Amass' development, he will certainly be grateful for the experience he has gained in the Steel City in an extremely challenging environment, which will serve him well as he hopes to break into the first-team fold at Old Trafford on a regular basis, albeit the challenges provided in the North West are rather different in context.
