Rubén Pardo embraces Krasava adventure in Limassol, different to anything he has known | OneFootball

After a year without a club, Rubén Pardo has joined Krasava in Limassol, a five-year-old club that has already moved countries. The former Real Sociedad and Betis midfielder has been recruited to be central to Chygrynskyi’s plans.

"It is different to what I have lived, in a good way. I wanted to keep playing, the project excited me, and the manager told me I would be fundamental, to feel important and enjoy playing," he told AS.

In 2024-25 with Aris Thessaloniki he started two matches when little was riding on them.

Krasava are coached by Chygrynskyi, the Ukrainian centre-back once signed by Pep Guardiola at Barcelona. "He is very close, he has clear ideas, he wants us to play from the back, and he speaks Spanish perfectly", Pardo said.

He shares a dressing room with fellow Spaniards Xavi Quintillà and Marco Camus. "I come here with humility, not to act like I am in charge because I played in Primera. Every day the lads ask what it is like to face Madrid or Barça", he added.

Founded in 2021 with a third-tier licence, Krasava lasted one season in Russian football before relocating after founder Evgeniy Savin, now better known on YouTube, condemned the invasion of Ukraine. A critical film on his channel was followed by the loss of their stadium deal, a sponsor’s exit and a federation bar in the Moscow region, so Savin moved with his family and the team to Cyprus.
