Rudi Garcia rebuked by Belgian FA after backing Nicky Hayen | OneFootball

The Belgian FA has distanced itself from Rudi Garcia after the Belgium head coach publicly backed Nicky Hayen following his dismissal by Club Bruges.

According to L'Équipe, Garcia criticised the decision to sack Hayen after Club Bruges slipped to third in the league, two days before facing Arsenal.

Garcia argued the move was illogical, saying Hayen had done significant work, got the best from his squad and produced results in the Champions League. He added that Belgian football needs coaches like him.

The RBFA later emphasised that the matter was solely for the parties involved and an internal club issue. It said the federation prefers to focus on its own activities and ambitions.

The federation also stressed that relations and collaboration with clubs at all levels remain excellent.
