With two weeks left in the window, Pisa are moving to keep Napoli striker Lorenzo Lucca in Serie A, a stance that could derail Rui Costa and Benfica’s plans, with Nottingham Forest currently closer to a winter deal.
According to Alfredo Pedullà, the newly promoted Serie A side want the 25-year-old to reject the Premier League and remain in Italy. Pisa are set to submit a 2 million euros loan proposal, double what Forest would pay, to convince Napoli.
Benfica had been strongly linked to Lucca in domestic and international reports, but Napoli’s financial demands, with the club needing to meet UEFA restrictions, have cooled the Lisbon side’s interest.
Lucca is under contract at Napoli until June 2028 and is valued at 25 million euros.
He has made 22 appearances this season, 16 in Serie A, four in the Champions League, one in the Supercoppa and one in the Coppa Italia, scoring two goals in 585 minutes.
