Russell Martin says he wants to keep defender Harry Souttar at Leicester City amid Sheffield United interest.

"There's been a couple of offers, but no discussions, and the answer has been no," he told LeicestershireLive.

Souttar has attracted interest after City's relegation to League One, and has been linked with a return to Bramall Lane following a previous loan. Wilder has confirmed his wish to re-sign the Australia international, but the Championship club are yet to come close to City's valuation.

On Saturday, Wilder said talks had taken place with City and that any move now rested with chief executive Stephen Bettis' hands.

Souttar captained a behind-closed-doors friendly against Coventry City on Saturday afternoon, a 1-0 defeat, before City lost to Genoa in the evening. "We're looking for people who will add to the squad in a few positions. It'll become clear for you guys over the next couple of weeks when we see people come in, we might see people go - I hope Harry's not one of them."

He added: "People will only leave when it's right for us and it's right for them, both parties are happy with how it looks. He played brilliantly today [against Coventry], he'll be involved next week, as it stands, and I'm really enjoying working with him."
