Ryan Edmondson has signed for League of Ireland side St Patricks Athletic after a trophy-laden spell with Central Coast Mariners. The former Leeds United forward helped the Australian club win the A-League Championship and Premiership, as well as the AFC Champions League Two Cup.
The 24-year-old came through York City’s youth ranks before joining Leeds in November 2017. He made two senior appearances for the Whites, both as a second-half substitute in Championship matches against Birmingham City and Queens Park Rangers.
Edmondson gained experience on loan with Aberdeen, Northampton Town, Fleetwood Town and Port Vale. With opportunities limited, he left Elland Road for Carlisle United in summer 2022, scoring 7 in 52 games, then moved to the Mariners 18 months later.
"It's great to be here. I'm really excited and hopefully myself and the club can have a really successful period together," he said. He told the St Patricks official website.
"The Gaffer (Stephen Kenny) rang me and explained his ambitions and where he wants the club to go and that really drove me towards signing."
He could make his debut on 8 February when St Patricks face Bohemians at the Aviva Stadium in their season opener. "Let's hope when it comes to February 8th we can go to Aviva Stadium, collect three points and give the fans something to cheer for."
