Umar Sadiq is set to miss eight to 10 weeks after a hamstring injury, following tests on Tuesday morning. AS reports that the Valencia forward was hurt on Sunday at Riazor.

He visited Paterna, then a medical centre, for assessments. The lay-off is a major setback for Carlos Corberán.

Valencia's treatment room already includes Pablo Maffeo, Guido Rodríguez and Copete, who has no return date, as well as Sadiq. Diego López will not feature again until next year and was deregistered on the final day of the window.

Valencia are working against the clock to sign a striker to cover Sadiq's absence. He will miss around nine league matches.

On social media, Sadiq shared an image of Riazor with a religious message expressing a plea for help.
