German Bundesliga side Hamburg SV has identified AS Saint-Étienne's Ghanaian forward Augustine Boakye as a key transfer target. However, the French club is poised to drive a hard bargain for their prized asset.

The 24-year-old, who is under contract with Saint-Étienne until June 2028 with an optional additional year, has attracted attention from the 13th-placed German team, which is seeking to bolster its struggling attack. According to information from Africafoot, Hamburg's sporting director, Claus Costa, has already established contact with the Saint-Étienne hierarchy regarding Boakye.

It is reported that an initial offer of approximately €7 million has been tabled by the German club to secure the player's services. Despite this proposition, the latest indications suggest that Saint-Étienne has no intention of parting with their player for anything less than their valuation.

Boakye has maintained his excellent form from the previous season, contributing 5 goals and 2 assists in 11 Ligue 2 appearances this 2024/25 campaign.
