Mohamed Salah has called for the Liverpool fans to give Jordan Henderson a farewell in the club's final home fixture of the season against Brentford.
Salah will leave Liverpool in the summer and will play at Anfield for the final time when Brentford visit later this month.
Andy Robertson will also say goodbye to the Liverpool fans, with both players set to leave in the summer. A huge reception is planned for the duo, who have been pillars of Liverpool's success across nine seasons with the Reds.
However, Salah has requested that the Liverpool fans also offer an ovation to former captain Henderson, who will be part of the Brentford team in opposition.
Henderson spent 12 seasons at Liverpool and captained the club to a wealth of honours, including theChampions League and Premier League, but failed to receive a send-off after an unexpected exit in 2023.
Salah outlined his hope that Henderson's achievements with the Reds can also be celebrated.
Speaking toSteven Gerrard during an interview for TNT Sports, Salah said: “Last game of the season is against Brentford. People in the city know how much it meant to Hendo also, being here and captain of the club for 12 years.
“More than me, more than Virg [Virgil van Dijk], more than Robbo, more than anyone. He didn’t get the send-off or farewell he deserved because he left immediately.
“I don’t know how the club is going to manage it, I have no plan, I don’t know how the supporters will also manage it, but I really wish they do something special for him because he’s been one of the best players in this club.
“Without him and being there in the dressing room, without him we wouldn’t have achieved what we achieved. So I really hope the fans will give him a good send-off.
“I really hope so because, again, if you’re not in the dressing room maybe you don’t know much what’s going on there.
“You [Gerrard] are aware of that, you played with him – you know how much he’s passionate and loves the club.
“So I really wish the club will do something for him and the fans also can do something special for him. Because this is Liverpool and we do it this way.”
