Samu returns to Porto by car on medical advice, due at Olival on Tuesday

Samu is travelling back to Porto by car on medical advice after knee surgery in Madrid on Wednesday.

According to O Jogo, the forward will report to Olival on Tuesday to start his rehabilitation.

He underwent an operation on a torn cruciate ligament in one knee, performed by orthopaedic specialist Manuel Leyes.

Samu will not play again this season.

He is making the journey with his mother and a member of the club’s medical department.
