Flamengo beat Mirassol 2-0 on Wednesday in a rearranged fourth-round Brasileirão match at the Maracanã. According to Globo.com, Samuel Lino was substituted late on and left the pitch complaining to head coach Leonardo Jardim.

He made way for Everton Cebolinha and continued voicing his frustration as he walked towards the bench. Broadcast images did not show clearly whether he was unhappy with the change or raising another issue with the coach.

After the match, Lino said his grievance concerned the condition of the Maracanã pitch. He explained he had been discussing a move Flamengo failed to execute because of the surface.

Lino added that Jardim pointed out he was not to blame, and the forward joked he had to complain to someone. He described the episode as very calm and said he hopes the turf improves so they can offer a better spectacle for supporters.

Carrascal and Lucas Paquetá scored for Flamengo. The result cut the gap to leaders Palmeiras to one point, 52 to 51.
