A San Lorenzo supporter was filmed making a racist gesture towards Santos supporters during Tuesday's Copa Sudamericana Group D match at the Nuevo Gasómetro, which finished 1-1.

According to Globo.com, the footage was recorded by a Santos fan who asked not to be identified. The clip shows a man in the Argentine club's tracksuit beating his chest and imitating a monkey.

The recording cuts amid anger from the away end. People at the ground said the supporter showed the video to police, who advised taking it to Conmebol.

Racism is handled differently in Argentina. In Brazil, such conduct is akin to the crime of injúria racial, which is not time-barred and not bailable. In Argentina, penalties can include compensation for moral and material damages.

Santos returned to Brazil in the early hours of Thursday and has not commented. Conmebol and San Lorenzo have also made no public statement.
