Santi Bueno’s Wolves future remains in limbo after his omission from Cesar Peixoto’s 25-man EFL squad on Tuesday. The Uruguay international is no closer to a move, having stayed at Molineux beyond the English deadline, and may yet depart abroad, with several foreign windows still open, to avoid inactivity until at least January.

Bueno joined from Girona in August 2023 for £8.5 million and has made 85 appearances, scoring four goals with three assists. He signed a five-year contract that has two years to run.

The 27-year-old was voted Wolves’ player of the season for 2025/26 after impressing despite relegation from the Premier League. He featured 34 times in all competitions last season, including 29 in the top flight, registering four goals and two assists.
