Santos have agreed a deal to sign 34-year-old right-back Rodinei, who has left Olympiacos.
According to Globo.com, the club and player are set to sign a contract running until the end of 2027 in the coming hours. He is due in the Baixada Santista by the end of the week for medical tests.
Rodinei had a little under one year left on his Greek deal but terminated it to return to the country without a fee. Coach Cuca requested his arrival to strengthen a position currently staffed only by Igor Vinicius, with Gabriel Menino injured.
He will become Santos’ second signing of this window, following midfielder Arthur, who was unattached after a spell at Grêmio. A move for left-back Emerson Palmieri has been ruled out.
Rodinei began at Avaí, then played for Marcílio Dias-SC, Corinthians, Penapolense-SP, Crac-GO and Ponte Preta before a standout stint at Flamengo. He also featured for Internacional and had been with Olympiacos since 2022.
He has won two Libertadores, one Brasileirão and one Copa do Brasil.
