The club said on Thursday that goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão felt strong pain in his left shoulder after the Copa Sudamericana tie at Atlético-MG on Wednesday 16 in Belo Horizonte, and he has returned to Santos for a new assessment.

Treatment began in the dressing room at Arena MRV. As the long-standing issue showed no improvement before the squad departed for Belém, he returned to the city for further tests.

He has not travelled for the Campeonato Brasileiro fixture against Remo on Saturday 19, kicking off at 18:30 Brasília time at the Mangueirão, in the 28th round.

A left-shoulder operation had been planned for the end of the season. Given the recent deterioration, the procedure could be brought forward.
