Enzo Monteiro, the Santos forward on loan at Chungbuk Cheongju in K-League 2, is drawing interest from clubs in Eastern Europe and Brazil's Série B. With the international transfer window closing on 11 September, a permanent sale or another loan could be on the table.
According to Diario Do Peixe, the 22-year-old intends to leave the South Korean side. His loan runs until the end of this year, while his Santos contract is in place until December 2027.
Monteiro is a regular in the Bolivia squad, having featured in South American World Cup qualifiers and the 2026 play-offs. He has made nine appearances for Cheongju this season. Last year at Auda FK in Latvia he scored five goals and supplied one assist in 39 matches across the Virsliga, Latvian Cup and Europa Conference League.
Born in Santa Cruz de La Sierra, he caught Santos' eye in a 2018 friendly against their under-15s while with Projeto Bolívia 2022. FIFA rules delayed his move until May 2022, when he turned 18 and signed his first professional deal. He quickly broke through with the under-20s and needed left knee meniscus surgery late that year.
Promoted by then coach Fábio Carille in early March 2024, he made his senior debut with 60 minutes in the 2-0 win over Paysandu on 20 April, the Série B opener at Vila Belmiro. He later returned to the academy and finished with 35 goals in 76 under-20 games before heading out on loan.
