São Paulo court clears Corinthians assembly vote on statute reform | OneFootball

A São Paulo court has authorised Corinthians' Extraordinary General Assembly on 19 September to vote on reforms to the club's statute.

Judge Rafael Viotti Schlobach of the 3rd Civil Court in Tatuapé validated the Deliberative Council's procedure and cleared the meeting, with voting restricted to 11 items already approved by the council. Members will not vote on the base text of the reform. According to Globo.com, the ruling is first instance and can be appealed.

The decision follows injunctions that halted the General Assembly in recent months, the vote was suspended three times.

The 11 topics include voting rights for the football associate programme, the Fiel Torcedor, from 2026, a cut in the Deliberative Council's size to 200 members, 150 elected and 50 life members, individual candidacies for the council, a reduction of the voting qualifying period to three years, and the introduction of two rounds for electing the president and vice presidents.

Further items are the Ethics Council being elected by the General Assembly, its composition set at 11 members elected by the Assembly, limits on Cori ex officio members to the last five former CD presidents and the board, quarterly publication of management accounts, a transitional rule allowing the current president to seek re-election, and a dedicated budget obliging the board to fund CD demands.
