Prosecutors in São Paulo have given Corinthians 10 days to provide proof of payments to a security firm amid scrutiny of private protection for president Osmar Stabile.

Ge.globo reports that the Ministério Público de São Paulo has opened a Procedimento Investigatório Criminal into suspected offences in the hiring of Bear Security Ltda to guard Stabile, led by criminal prosecutor Cassio Roberto Conserino.

A representation by club associates alleges Bear Security operates inside Parque São Jorge for Stabile’s private benefit, with costs met by Corinthians, and that it lacks Federal Police authorisation. Case papers cite payments of R$ 586.987,65 to Bear Security Ltda.

The case also links to an earlier inquiry into Mega Assessoria Operacional Ltda and Bear Security, opened in May 2026. That probe examined Mega Assessoria’s work in September and October 2025 and noted no Federal Police clearance, no formal contract, and three invoices totalling R$ 676,6 mil.

The new procedure orders checks on Bear Security’s status with the Federal Police and whether such spending complies with the club’s Statute. Prosecutors also seek to identify who paid the firm and the amounts disbursed.

The Conselho de Orientação, Cori, has the same 10 day deadline to say if it authorised or knew of the hiring for Stabile’s benefit, and a CNPJ check on Bear Security was ordered.

Potential offences include apropriação indébita or estelionato, subject to the findings. The probe is at an initial stage and does not determine that a crime occurred or that Osmar Stabile is responsible.
