Globo.com says the Conselho Superior do Ministério Público de São Paulo has rejected a Corinthians appeal and allowed a civil inquiry into possible judicial intervention to proceed.
Frozen by a suspensive effect, the early-stage case saw no action, but initial investigative steps can now begin.
The inquiry opened in December 2025 in the Promotoria de Justiça do Patrimônio Público e Social, then was suspended days later after the club appealed. On 24 February, the council sought confirmation of its internal allocation, before ruling again on Tuesday.
With the green light, Luiz Ambra and André Pascoal can start work. During the halt, criminal prosecutor Cássio Conserino sent documents and had requested the civil inquiry to gauge whether intervention might be needed.
In parallel, members filed a lawsuit seeking intervention. The MP opposed an interim injunction, citing the need to hear Corinthians and the existence of the inquiry, now able to run.
If prosecutors deem intervention necessary, they must file a public civil action requesting it. Any intervention would be decided by the courts.
The inquiry is based on 25 points raised by Conserino, among them audit reports, charges against ex-presidents Augusto Melo and Andres Sanches and then financial manager Roberto Gavioli, alleged diversion of kit, issues with the Regime Centralizado de Execuções, allegedly fake invoices from Oliveira Minimercado, suspected organised crime links including VaideBet commissions, and other concerns over contracts, brand licensing, TV Corinthians and youth recruitment.
