A new twist in Maurizio Sarri’s future could see Lazio and Atalanta consider a head coach swap, amid rising interest in the Biancocelesti boss.
Corriere dello Sport suggests a scenario in which Sarri trades places with Raffaele Palladino, who is among the Serie A coaches expected to leave at the end of the season.
Sarri remains under contract at Lazio and is also on Napoli’s shortlist to replace Antonio Conte, who will depart the Partenopei after the 2025-26 campaign.
Sarri is currently thought to be more tempted by Atalanta, where he would work alongside his former Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli. La Dea are understood to be pushing to beat Napoli to his signature.
With uncertainty over Sarri, Lazio have been assessing alternatives. They have looked at former Bologna and Juventus head coach Thiago Motta, though the same report suggested he is likelier to start again abroad rather than in Serie A. Palladino and Cagliari’s Fabio Pisacane are among the options Lazio appear to like most.
