Saudi Club Lurk As Liverpool Plot New Offer For Target | OneFootball

Liverpool are preparing to submit a new bid to Paris Saint-Germain for key target Bradley Barcola, but might face competition from a club in Saudi Arabia.

Andoni Iraola has made no secret of his desire for wingers to be signed before the transfer window closes and Liverpool want two wide additions.

Liverpool have already signed Victor Munoz after hijacking his proposed move to Newcastle United, who had looked set to secure the Spaniard.

PSG’s Barcola has long been their top wing target, but the clock is ticking.

The Anfield outfit have held talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a potential deal for the France international winger, but the Ligue 1 club’s valuation has proved a stumbling block.

It was suggested that Liverpool still are staying in touch with PSG to bring in Barcola, and ‘exchanges between the two clubs are regular’.

The feeling in France is that Barcola will become a Liverpool player, but the Reds still have work to do.

Liverpool will ‘submit a new bid’ for the PSG winger this week, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, but a club from Saudi Arabia have shown interest, while Arsenal have also been floated as admirers.

Saudi sides, who are known to spend heavily to lure their targets, as they did in the case of Crysencio Summerville, could cause problems for Liverpool should they join the pursuit of the 23-year-old.

Liverpool do face a busy ten days ahead, with potentially significant ins and outs.

The Anfield outfit could lose Cody Gakpo, who is being chased by Tottenham Hotspur, and would want an addition beyond just Barcola.

Liverpool are also keen on signing Ibrahim Mbaye from PSG, but they are not ‘prepared to invest’ €70m in the winger as things stand, but have agreed personal terms with him.

Further complicating the Mbaye move, the winger has recently been offered to Serie A side Roma, who are considering getting involved in the chase.

It remains to be seen whether the Reds are able to secure the signature of Barcola, for whom the Parisians have been asking €140m.

Elsewhere, Federico Chiesa has also been offered to Roma, although the Reds would need to contribute towards his wages to make the move possible.
