Atalanta has exercised its option to extend Gianluca Scamacca’s contract until June 2028.

This renewal extends the contract’s initial expiry date of 2027 and confirms the Bergamo club’s desire to continue investing in the striker in the coming seasons, effectively securing his medium-term future.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Scamacca’s possible return to Roma had been circulating again in recent weeks, partly due to some transfer market speculation and speculation about the Giallorossi’s appointment.

However, over time, the deal has never materialized, partly because the Roman club doesn’t currently consider the striker a top priority for their attacking lineup.

The recent contract extension now makes the deal even more complex, significantly reducing the chances of a return to Trigoria.

Scamacca therefore remains a key player in the Nerazzurri’s project, while Roma will eventually have to look at other players to strengthen their attack in the upcoming transfer window.
