Scotland defender Scott McKenna will miss his side’s opening game of the World Cup against Haiti.
The Dinamo Zagreb defender has a calf issue but is expected to return to training next week.
“Scott will miss out,” Scotland boss Steve Clarke explained. “He’s just had a little issue with his calf which we’re not taking any chances with.
“He’s almost there and he’ll probably train on Monday.”
But star man Scott McTominay is fit to play the opening game of the tournament having recovered from a stomach problem.
“Perfect,” Clarke replied when asked about the Napoli midfielder. “Ready to go.”
Ahead of the first game, Clarke also says his players are keen to use the pain of the last two major tournaments to write history at this one.
“We know the last two tournaments haven’t gone the way we wanted them to go, but we have another chance and that’s credit to the players that they keep qualifying for these major tournaments,” he said.
“It’s great to be here, but we also want to do something special.”
