Scott Parker expects a double injury boost, with Zian Flemming and Joe Worrall back in contention for Burnley’s Premier League visit to Sunderland on Monday night.
According to Sunderland Echo, the Burnley head coach told his Thursday pre-match press conference both players have now trained for about 10 days and should be available if they come through the final session.
Sunderland host at the Stadium of Light and will look to respond to a 3-1 defeat at West Ham last time out, having also lost 2-0 at Turf Moor earlier in the season.
Burnley remain near the foot of the table, 10 points from safety, though they have taken points against Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in their last three outings.
Parker added that Josh Cullen remains sidelined, and reported no new fitness concerns, with the rest of the squad in a good place.
James Ward-Prowse arrived on loan from West Ham earlier this week. Parker believes the midfielder will bring quality and know-how, provide cover for Cullen’s long-term absence, and be assessed over the coming days as he gets up to speed.
