Luton Town goalkeeper Matt Macey could be heading for a swift return north of the border following his summer arrival from Hibernian, with both Aberdeen and Dundee United keen on offering him game-time for the rest of the season, Alan Nixon has reported on his Patreon account.
The towering stopper, who stands at 6 feet and 7 inches tall, was acquired by the Hatters from Hibs as competition for Nottingham Forest loanee Ethan Horvath, but has so far featured just once in an EFL Cup clash against Newport County back in August.
But Macey has barely even selected for the bench in recent months by either Nathan Jones or new boss Rob Edwards, with his last appearance in a matchday squad coming in November.
The Bedfordshire outfit now appear keen to let the 28-year-old leave, although it is not clear as to whether Aberdeen and Dundee United, as well as an unnamed League One club, want to pursue a loan deal or a permanent move.

Real Fake
Macey played 44 games in all competitions for Hibernian last season which led to his switch to Luton, but his time appears to be over already at Kenilworth Road.
The Verdict
If Macey can’t even make Luton’s matchday squads anymore with Harry Isted jumping ahead of him in the pecking order, then there’s no point in keeping him around.
At 28 years of age, Macey needs to be playing matches and his most successful period has been in Scotland, so you can see why there is interest.
With a contract running until 2024 though, it could be a complicated deal to do permanently, so either of the interested parties north of the border could take him temporarily.
Either way, Macey can’t be happy with how things have gone at Luton so far, so it wouldn’t be a shock if he does depart before the window closes.
