Sergio Ramos ‘has offered himself’ to Marseille as a free agent

Sergio Ramos, 39, has offered himself to Marseille as a free agent while searching for a new club, Radio MARCA reports.

The former Paris Saint-Germain centre-back is unattached after leaving Liga MX side Monterrey, where he made 34 appearances in just under 12 months.

He had been expected to rejoin Sevilla, but he cannot play for the La Liga club because of his pending takeover of the Spanish side, so he is exploring alternatives.

Ramos knows Ligue 1 well, having made 58 appearances for Marseille’s rivals PSG.

Despite his availability, a return to France is viewed as unlikely, with Roberto De Zerbi not appearing overly enthused about adding the former Spain international to his squad.
