Serie A official line-ups: Roma vs. Atalanta

Paulo Dybala and Evan Ndicka shake off knocks to start for Roma with unstoppable Donyell Malen and Rodrigo Mora, while Atalanta rely on Gianluca Scamacca and Charles De Ketelaere.

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico at 19.45 UK time (20.45 CEST).

This is an evening of reunions in the Eternal City, as Gian Piero Gasperini faces his old club, while Maurizio Sarri returns after last season’s experience as the coach of Lazio.

It has been a perfect start to the campaign for Roma, who won both games 4-0 against Fiorentina and Lecce.

Malen scored five of those goals and is again supported by Dybala, who shook off a muscular issue to play with summer signing Mora.

Ndicka pulled out in the warm-up of the Lecce trip, but he too has recovered and takes his place in defence back from Daniele Ghilardi.

Nahuel Molina is still not ready, so Emanuele Lulli is once more on the right, with only Lorenzo Pellegrini out of action.

There is no squad rotation ahead of the Champions League opener against Fenerbahce on Thursday.

Atalanta also started the season well, winning both matches against Sassuolo and Bologna with late goals.

Kamaldeen Sulemana and Isak Hien won’t be back until next month, and the squad is bolstered by the deadline day arrival of Jonathan Rowe from Bologna and free agent Franck Kessié.

De Ketelaere completes the trident attack with Scamacca and Eljif Elmas, leaving Rowe and Giacomo Raspadori on the bench.

Atalanta are a real bugbear for Roma, unbeaten against them since a 1-0 result here in March 2022, thanks to six victories and two stalemates.
