West Brom boss James Morrison has confirmed Nolan Galves is facing a “few months” on the sidelines with a knee injury.
The right-back suffered the problem during Albion’s midweek victory over Derby County, with subsequent scans revealing damage to his meniscus.
Galves is set to undergo further tests this week before a more precise timeframe for his recovery can be established.
“It’s quite serious,” Morrison said. “He’s got some further tests this week, but I expect a few months out.
“It’s the meniscus.”
Galves watched on as his team-mates drew 1-1 with QPR at the Hawthorns thanks to Callum Styles, who filled in at right-back, scoring an equaliser after Chris Mepham’s own goal.
